Enrolment

These are the terms on which a place on The Madrasa Project is offered and held. They apply to Cohort One, running from Saturday 17 October 2026 to Saturday 1 May 2027, and they take effect when an offer is accepted and the fee is paid. Please read them before you pay.

Who this agreement is between

These terms are between Al-Mahdi Institute, 60 Weoley Park Road, Birmingham B29 6RB, and the person who accepts a place and pays the fee — the student where the student is eighteen or over, otherwise the parent or guardian. Where the student is under eighteen, the parent or guardian accepts these terms on the student’s behalf as well as their own.

The place, and what the fee covers

A place on Cohort One is a place for one named student on the welcome day of 17 October 2026 and the eighteen teaching sessions that follow, ending on 1 May 2027. The fee of £350 covers every session, all course materials including the Student Handbook and Portfolio, and the end-of-year lunch. There are no further costs. A place is personal to the student named on the application and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

Accepting an offer

An offer is open for seven calendar days from the date of the offer email. Payment in full within that period accepts the offer and secures the place. If payment has not reached us by the deadline the offer is withdrawn and the place is released to the waiting list. If you need longer, write to us before the deadline rather than after it.

The information you give us

A place is offered on the basis of what is written on the application and enrolment forms. Please make sure it is accurate, and tell us in writing if anything material changes — a contact number, an address, who correspondence should go to. Where information is found to be materially inaccurate or incomplete, and the place would not have been offered had we known, we may withdraw it.

Attendance

The programme builds week on week and we ask students to attend every session. Where a student cannot attend, tell us in advance. Every topic has a summary in the Student Handbook so a missed session can be picked up, but sustained absence undermines the programme for the student and for the group. No refund or reduction is made for sessions not attended.

Conduct

Students are asked to follow the Code of Conduct set out in the Student Handbook, which is given out on the welcome day. It asks for the ordinary things: courtesy to other students and to staff, honesty, and care for the building. Serious or persistent breaches may lead to a place being suspended or withdrawn. We will always speak to the student, and where the student is under eighteen to a parent or guardian, before taking that step except where the safety of another person requires us to act immediately.

Medical, access and support needs

We ask on the application whether there are any medical, access or support needs, and we ask again at enrolment. We ask so that we can prepare; the answer plays no part in whether a place is offered. Tell us as early as you can, and tell us if anything changes during the year. Where an adjustment is reasonable for a programme of this size we will make it, and we will speak to you if we are not sure we can.

Medical and emergency information

A short medical and emergency form is completed on paper on the welcome day and kept securely on site. It is not part of the online enrolment pack. In an emergency we will act on the information given and, where the student is under eighteen, seek any treatment a medical professional considers necessary if a parent or guardian cannot be reached in time.

Safeguarding

The Institute’s safeguarding arrangements apply to everyone on the programme and are set out in full at themadrasaproject.co.uk/safeguarding. Where a concern arises about a student’s welfare we may need to share information with others, including statutory agencies, without consent. This is the one circumstance in which we may act without asking you first.

Photographs and film

Whether images of the student may be used, and where, is chosen on the enrolment pack. That choice can be changed at any time by writing to madrasa@almahdi.edu, and a change applies from the day we receive it. We cannot recall material already printed or published before then.

Personal information

What we collect, why, who can see it and how long we keep it is set out in the privacy notice at themadrasaproject.co.uk/privacy. Al-Mahdi Institute is the data controller, registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under ZA381777.

Changes to the programme

We may need to change a session date, a venue, a topic or a teacher. Where we do, we will tell you as early as we can. An individual session that is postponed, cancelled or moved online will be rescheduled or replaced, and no refund arises. If the Institute cancels the cohort outright the refund position is set out in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

Withdrawal of a place by the Institute

We may withdraw a place for a serious or persistent breach of the Code of Conduct, for a breach of our safeguarding requirements, or for material misrepresentation in the information given to us. Where a place is withdrawn on any of those grounds no refund is made.

Cancelling, and refunds

Your statutory right to cancel within fourteen days, and every other refund question, is dealt with in the Refund and Cancellation Policy at themadrasaproject.co.uk/refunds. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

Responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not responsible for personal property brought onto the premises, and we are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the place was accepted.

Complaints

Write to the Programme Lead at madrasa@almahdi.edu or at the address above. We will acknowledge within five working days and reply in full within twenty-eight days.

Changes to these terms

These terms apply to Cohort One. We may correct errors or reflect a change in the law at any time, and will tell you if we do. Any other change during the year will be made only with your agreement.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
