Refund &
Cancellation Policy

This policy applies to every place on The Madrasa Project, Cohort One, running from Saturday 17 October 2026 to Saturday 1 May 2027. It forms part of the enrolment agreement between Al-Mahdi Institute and the person paying the fee. Please read it before you pay.

The fee

The fee for Cohort One is £350, payable in full at the point of enrolment. The fee covers the welcome day and eighteen teaching sessions — nineteen Saturdays in total — all course materials, and the end-of-year lunch on 1 May 2027. It is a single fee for a place on the programme and is not calculated or apportioned by session.

Your statutory right to cancel

Where you enrol online or otherwise at a distance, you may cancel within fourteen days, beginning the day after we confirm the place in writing, without giving a reason. Cancellation within this period is refunded in full, within fourteen days of our receiving your notice, by the method used to pay. This is provided under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

If the programme begins during those fourteen days

If you ask us in writing to begin providing the programme before your fourteen days have expired, and you then cancel within the period, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the sessions already delivered. The remainder will be refunded. If you make no such request, the programme will not begin until the period has ended.

Cancellation after the fourteen days

After the statutory period has expired the fee is non-refundable. Places are strictly limited and held individually; a place withdrawn part-way through the year cannot be re-offered, and the cost to the Institute of providing it is incurred in full at the start of the year. This applies equally whether the place is cancelled before the programme begins or at any point during it.

Non-attendance and withdrawal

No refund or reduction is made for sessions a student does not attend, for any reason, or where a student withdraws or is withdrawn part-way through the programme. Where a place is suspended or withdrawn by the Institute following a breach of the Code of Conduct or of our safeguarding requirements, no refund is made.

Information given to us

A place is offered on the basis of the information given in the application and enrolment forms. Where that information is found to be materially inaccurate or incomplete, and the place would not have been offered had we known, we may withdraw it. No refund is made where a place is withdrawn on this basis. This clause is directed at material misrepresentation and not at honest mistakes, which should simply be corrected by writing to us.

If we cancel

If the Institute cancels Cohort One before it begins, or discontinues it once begun, you will receive a full refund of the fee, or a proportionate refund for sessions not delivered, at your election. Where an individual session is postponed, cancelled or moved online, it will be rescheduled or replaced and no refund arises.

Deferral

At the Institute’s discretion a place may be deferred once to the following cohort in place of a refund. Deferral is not a right, must be requested in writing before the programme begins, and is subject to the fee then in force.

Exceptional circumstances

The Institute may, at its sole discretion and without creating any precedent, make a full or partial refund in cases of serious illness, bereavement or comparable hardship. Requests should be made in writing to the Programme Lead and may require supporting evidence.

How to cancel

Write to madrasa@almahdi.edu, or to Al-Mahdi Institute, 60 Weoley Park Road, Birmingham B29 6RB, stating the student’s name and that you wish to cancel. No particular form of words is required. Cancellation takes effect on the day we receive your notice.

If you are dissatisfied with a decision under this policy, write to the Programme Lead at the address above. This policy does not affect your other statutory rights.
